Job Profitability & Budgets
See what every job actually made, not just what it billed.
Revenue minus expenses minus labour at your real cost rates, per project. Profit, margin and effective hourly rate on every job, budgets that warn you at 80% and 100%, and a report of your most and least profitable work.

Everything inside
Every facet, function & convenience.
Profit per project
Invoiced, collected and outstanding against expenses and labour, with profit and margin worked out for you.
Labour at cost rates
Logged hours are costed at each teammate's cost rate, or a workspace default. Hours with no rate show as "cost not set", never as free.
Effective hourly rate
Profit spread over the hours logged: the number that tells you whether a fixed-price job paid off.
Unbilled time value
Billable hours not yet invoiced, shown in dollars on the job.
Budgets in hours or money
Set an hours budget, a money budget or both. Money budgets count your costs by default, or billed value for fixed-fee work.
80% and 100% alerts
Owners and admins get an email and a team-only activity note when a job crosses 80% and again at 100%.
Budget bars on the list
Every project with a budget shows a usage bar on the projects list, so overruns are visible at a glance.
Most / least profitable report
Rank every job by profit, margin, revenue, cost, hours or effective rate.
Cost rates per teammate
Owners and admins set each person's cost rate, with a workspace default for everyone else.

Every job gets a profit tab
Revenue on one side, costs on the other: expenses attributed to the project plus labour at cost. The profit, the margin and the effective hourly rate sit on top, so "did we make money on that?" has an answer.

Budgets that speak up early
Give a job an hours budget, a money budget or both. Fee-Lion warns owners and admins at 80% and again at 100%, while there is still time to talk to the client about scope.

Your best and worst jobs, ranked
The profitability report sorts every job by profit, margin or effective rate. Flip to least profitable and the work you should reprice, or stop taking, is at the top.
Questions
The short answers.
Where do labour costs come from?
From logged time multiplied by a cost rate: each teammate's own rate if set, otherwise the workspace default. Hours with neither are flagged as "cost not set" rather than counted as zero.
Which expenses count against a job?
Expenses you attach to the project. Attach the subcontractor, the materials or the permit fee to the job and it is subtracted there.
Who gets budget alerts?
Owners and admins, by email and as a team-only note in the activity feed. Clients never see them.
Can a budget track billed value instead of cost?
Yes. Money budgets count cost by default; switch a job to "billed" for fixed-fee work where invoiced plus unbilled time is what matters.
