Clients Portal

The client portal

The client portal is the window your clients use to work with you. It carries your logo, so it feels like an extension of your business, and there is nothing for your clients to remember or install.

When you’d use this

Read this when you are deciding whether to move a client off email-and-PDF, or when a client asks what the link you sent actually is. The portal replaces three things most small businesses do by hand: sending documents, chasing approvals, and answering “what do I owe you?” Your client gets one place with every estimate and invoice you have ever sent them, what each one is waiting on, and a button to act.

Because it carries your logo and lives at a link rather than behind a login, clients treat it as part of your business rather than as another app they have to join. That is why approval and payment rates go up when people switch to it.

How clients get in

Clients reach the portal through a magic link. There is no password to create or reset. What each contact can see and do is driven by their role, so you stay in control of access.

What they can do

  • View their estimates and invoices in one place.
  • Approve or deny an estimate with a single click.
  • Pay an invoice online by card or ACH, including paying part of the balance.
  • See their payment history and a lifecycle timeline that tracks each item’s progress.
  • Discuss the work with you directly.

Tip: Want to see exactly what a client sees before you send anything? Use view as client to preview the portal from their side.

FAQ

Do clients need to install anything or create a password?

No. The portal opens from a magic link in the email and works in any browser, on a phone or a desktop.

Can a client see other clients’ documents?

No. Each contact sees only the company they belong to, and what they can do within it is set by their role.

Can several people at the client’s company use the portal?

Yes. Add more contacts to the company, give each a role, and every one of them gets their own magic link.
