Whether you run a live cohort, sell seats to a company team, or layer a few coaching calls on top of a course, Fee-Lion lets you quote it cleanly, get paid by card into your own Stripe, and keep the recurring stuff running on autopilot. Here’s how to set up billing that matches the way course creators actually sell.
Quote a cohort or corporate seats
Most course sales are really just “X seats at Y price” — which is exactly what a Fee-Lion estimate is built for. Start from an estimate so the client can approve and pay in one flow.
- In the left sidebar, open Estimates and create a new one for the company or person buying.
- Add a unit line item for seats — set the quantity to the number of enrollments and the rate to your per-seat price. The total updates as quantity changes.
- Add a fee line for flat extras like a workbook bundle or onboarding session, and a task line (hours × rate) for any 1:1 coaching add-ons.
- Use a discount line for early-bird or volume pricing, or a surcharge for rush enrollment.
- Set tax and a deposit % if you want money up front to hold a spot, then send it.
Your client opens a no-login magic-link portal, reviews the line items, and approves with one click. From the approved estimate you convert it to an invoice (or a project) — no retyping.
Tip: Selling the same cohort over and over? Save your line items as a template under Settings → Preferences → Estimates so next launch is a two-minute duplicate-and-send.
Take a deposit to lock enrollment
For higher-ticket cohorts or corporate deals, a deposit filters out tire-kickers and funds your prep. Set a default once at Settings → Preferences so every estimate asks for it automatically, or add a deposit % per estimate. When the client approves, they pay the deposit by card in the portal, the money lands in your Stripe, and the remaining balance carries to the final invoice.
Recurring billing for memberships
Ongoing memberships, monthly mastermind access, or a payment plan that splits a course into installments all run on recurring invoices.
- From the sidebar, open Invoices and create a recurring invoice.
- Set the cadence (for example, monthly) and the line items — a single membership fee or your installment amount.
- Invite the member to enroll in auto-pay so their card is charged each cycle without a manual nudge.
- Membership — one monthly recurring invoice with auto-pay on.
- Payment plan — a recurring invoice that ends after the set number of installments.
- Corporate retainer — recurring seats billed to the company contact each month.
Get paid into your own Stripe
Every invoice carries a Pay button, and card payments settle directly into your connected Stripe account (Fee-Lion takes a small platform fee). Connect it once and you’re set. If a corporate buyer pays by bank transfer outside the app, record it as an offline payment so your books stay accurate. Need to move fast between launches? The ⌘K command palette lets you type things like “create invoice for Acme” or “pay INV-204” without clicking through screens.
