Online payments in Fee-Lion run through Stripe. Once you connect your Stripe account, clients can pay their invoices by card or ACH bank transfer straight from the branded portal — and those payments flow back in and reconcile on their own.
When you’d use this
Do this on day one, before you send anything. An invoice with a pay button gets paid in days; an invoice that says “please remit to the account below” gets paid when the client next does their banking. Stripe is the only setup step between you and online payments, and it takes a few minutes: Stripe verifies your business and bank details, and Fee-Lion handles everything else.
Fee-Lion does not hold your money. Payments go to your Stripe account and Stripe pays out to your bank on its normal schedule, so your existing accounting process does not change.
Connect your account
- Go to Settings → Payments.
- Connect your Stripe account and finish the steps Stripe walks you through.
- Return to Fee-Lion — once connected, online payment is available on your invoices.
What clients can do
With Stripe connected, an invoice you send carries a pay option in the portal. Your client can pay by:
- Card — a standard card payment.
- ACH bank transfer — pay directly from a bank account.
Every online payment is recorded automatically against the invoice with a Channel of Online, so you do not enter it by hand. The invoice balance counts down as money comes in.
Tip: If a client pays you outside Stripe — by check, cash, or wire — record it manually so the balance stays accurate. See record an offline payment.
FAQ
What does it cost to take payments?
Stripe’s standard processing fees apply per transaction, plus the platform fee shown on the Fee-Lion pricing page. There is no monthly cost for having Stripe connected.
Can I use an existing Stripe account?
Yes. Connecting signs you in to the Stripe account you already have; you do not need a new one.
When does the money reach my bank?
Stripe pays out on its standard schedule for your country, typically a couple of business days after the payment clears. ACH transfers take longer than cards to settle.
