Creating a Fee-Lion account takes a minute, and it gives you a full workspace to run your billing from. Here’s what happens when you sign up and the handful of things worth setting before you dive in.
- Create your account with your email and a password.
- Name your workspace — your “lair” — which is the home for your clients, estimates, invoices, projects, and reports.
- Follow the short setup: pick your trade to load a starter kit (a price book, estimate templates and defaults, with no sample clients), bring data over from another app if you have it, and add your business details. Every step can be skipped and picked up later from Getting Started.
What a workspace holds
Everything you bill and track lives in one workspace: contacts, documents, payments, projects, time, and expenses. If you run more than one business, you keep them in separate workspaces.
Your 14-day trial
Every new workspace starts on a 14-day trial with full access — no feature is locked or capped during the trial. When the trial ends, your workspace becomes read-only until you subscribe. Your data stays safe and visible; you simply can’t create or edit until you pick a plan.
Tip: The trial is time-based, not usage-based, so explore freely. Nothing you create counts against you.
First things to set
- Open Settings → Preferences and set your defaults — terms, tax rate, deposit percentage, and branding.
- Add your logo and choose a template style under Settings → Preferences → Branding.
- If you work with others, invite them at Settings → Team.
