Your client loved the idea but wants to trim a line item, or add one, or push back on the deposit. That’s not a setback. It’s a buying signal, and Fee-Lion makes the revise-and-resend loop quick so you can answer feedback while the project is still warm and get a fresh approval link in their hands the same day.
Open the estimate and make your edits
You don’t need to start over or duplicate anything. Find the estimate, change what changed, and your numbers re-tally automatically.
- Go to Estimates in the left sidebar and open the one your client commented on.
- Adjust your line items. Edit a task (hours × rate), tweak a fee or unit (qty × rate), or add a discount or surcharge to reflect the new scope.
- Update the tax or deposit % if the conversation moved those. The total and the amount due upfront recalculate as you type.
- If the back-and-forth ate into your timeline, refresh the validity window so the quote doesn’t expire mid-decision.
- Save your changes.
Tip: Add a short note in the estimate that names what moved, like “Removed onboarding call, added two extra revisions per our chat.” When the client opens the new link, they instantly see you listened, and that builds the trust that gets quotes signed.
Keep one source of truth
Edit the existing estimate rather than creating a brand-new one. That way your win/loss report stays clean and you’re never chasing two versions of the same quote when the client circles back.
Send the revised quote
Once your edits are in, resend exactly like you did the first time. Fee-Lion issues a new magic link, so the client lands in the portal, no login, no password, and reviews the updated figures in seconds.
- The portal always reflects your latest saved version, so the client sees the revision, not the old quote.
- They Approve with one click, and you’ll see the status flip the moment they do.
- From there it’s the same smooth path: convert the approved estimate to an invoice or a project and start the work.
Tip: In a hurry? Pop open the command palette with ⌘K and jump straight to the estimate by name instead of scrolling the list. It’s the fastest way to make a small edit and fire off the new link between meetings.
Confirm the approval and move forward
Watch for the status change rather than emailing “did you get it?” When the estimate reads approved, you’re cleared to convert it. The deposit you set carries through, so the invoice asks for the upfront amount automatically and your client can pay by card with money landing in your own Stripe account.
That’s the whole loop: feedback in, edits made, fresh link out, approval logged. Each revision is a step closer to a signed yes, and you’ve kept the whole exchange in one tidy place.
