Time Tracking

Use the timer

Time

The timer

When you’d rather not watch the clock yourself, start the timer and let it count for you. It follows you across the app, so you can keep working while it runs.

When you’d use this

Run the timer for work that is easy to under-count: support calls, quick fixes, the thirty minutes of back-and-forth that never feels like a billable block but adds up to hours a month. It is also the honest option when you want to learn how long a type of task really takes, so you can price it as a fixed fee next time. Keep typing hours by hand for work you did away from the desk.

Run the timer

  1. Start the timer when you begin the work.
  2. Keep working anywhere in the app; the timer stays with you.
  3. Stop the timer when you’re done.
  4. Stopping logs a time entry against the project or task you choose.

Same entry, less typing

A timed entry is a regular time entry, just measured for you instead of typed in. Once it’s logged, it behaves like any other: it can be billable and it’s ready to bill to an invoice.

Tip: Prefer entering hours by hand? You can always log time directly instead of running the timer.

FAQ

What if I forget to stop the timer?

Stop it when you notice and edit the entry’s hours before saving. A timed entry is editable like any other.

Can I run two timers at once?

One timer runs at a time. Stop it and start another when you switch tasks so each entry stays accurate.

Does the timer keep running if I close the browser?

Yes. It is tracked on the server, so it keeps counting until you stop it from any device.
